Saturday evening, September 1st
8:00-10:00 p.m.
There will be an open reading session with special guest alumni Kevin McManus. Our current trombone studio members will be playing music from the library of the Pittsburgh Bone Forum, a 10-piece trombone jazz group. Kevin is the leader and chief arranger for this unique and exciting ensemble. It will be a great opportunity for our students to be put in a "one rehearsal only" setting for the jazz concert the next day!
Sunday, September 2nd
12:00-2:00 p.m.
There will be another open rehearsal featuring the 10 PSU alumni returning to be a part of this Labor Days event. Professor Lusk and the alumni guests will be putting together works that are to be performed on the Faculty Trombone Recital on Monday; yet another awesome opportunity for the students to observe these professionals in action!
2:00-4:00 p.m.
This time will be an open discussion with between our guest alumni, with all their collective experieince and our students who are eager to understand what it take to be successful in today's music business.
5:30-7:00 p.m.
Open dress rehearsal/sound check with our alumni soloists and the Penn State Jazz Bone Forum,
this time with our outsanding rhythm section:
